HOW TO ENTER
Greg Shropshire, a beloved community leader, had a heart for youth and literacy. He was active with the 100 Black Men of Rome-Northwest Georgia, and his legacy continues to serve as a key piece in solving community issues and uplifting youth.
The Greg Shropshire Memorial Oratorical Contest is open to youth who live or attend school in Rome or Floyd County who have not completed high school and are at least 11 years of age.
First Place: $200
Second Place: $150
Third Place: $100
Entries must include a completed application form.
There is no fee to enter the contest.
The deadline for applications is Thursday, March 5th, 2026.
