On Saturday, September 8th from 9am to 1pm, Redmond Regional Medical Center will be hosting “Crush the Crisis” – an opioid drug take-back event – in partnership with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department Department and Floyd Against Drugs (FAD). The event will be held at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
All community members are invited to drop off unused opioids and expired medications at the “Crush the Crisis” event. Law enforcement officials from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department will be on hand to oversee collection and disposal of the medications.
Floyd Against Drugs (FAD) representatives will also participate in the event and be on hand to provide education materials.
The event will be held under a blue Redmond tent set up near the patient pick-up at the front entrance of the hospital. Those dropping off medications can enter at the main entrance off Redmond Road and pull straight ahead to the blue tent. Individuals will be able to “drive up” to the tent without having to get out of their car.
