On Saturday, October 25th, Floyd Against Drugs (FAD), in partnership with AdventHealth Redmond and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, held another successful Drug Drop event to help keep our community safe.

Together, the organizations collected more than 61 pounds of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications from 35 participating vehicles. These events not only provide residents with a safe and convenient way to dispose of unused medications, but also help prevent potential misuse and protect our environment from improper disposal.

In total, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office will be turning over 162 pounds of collected medications to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for proper destruction the following week.

FAD thanks everyone who took the time to participate and encourages the community to continue cleaning out medicine cabinets before the next Drug Drop event. Small actions like these make a big impact in keeping Floyd County safe and healthy.
