The Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition (NWGRCC) received a $1200 donation from Floyd Against Drugs (FAD) to support its tobacco cessation program, helping expand access to resources that assist individuals in quitting tobacco use and improving long-term health outcomes in our community.
Tobacco use remains the leading preventable cause of cancer, and cessation programs play a critical role in reducing cancer risk, improving quality of life, and reducing healthcare costs.
"We are incredibly grateful to FAD for their commitment to prevention and community health," said Allison Agnew, Outreach Manager. "Their support allows us to continue meeting people where they are, providing practical tools and encouragement to help individuals take steps toward a tobacco-free life."
NWGRCC's tobacco cessation program connects participants with counseling, quitline resources, and community-based support tailored to their needs. The program focuses on prevention, early intervention, and reducing disparities in tobacco-related health outcomes throughout the region.
