The Floyd County Drug Court recently celebrated the furnishing of a new four-bedroom rapid-rehousing apartment made possible through community collaboration and generosity.
Thanks to a $2,000 donation from Floyd Against Drugs (FAD), the apartment — provided by the Northwest Georgia Housing Authority — was fully furnished with high-quality items from Southern Hospitality Liquidation. The space will offer a safe, stable home environment for participants and families actively engaged in recovery.
Drug Court Coordinator Cam Parks emphasized the significance of the project, calling it “a reflection of what true community looks like.” Parks noted that the partnership between FAD, NWGHA, and Southern Hospitality Liquidation has provided participants “not just a place to live, but a home filled with dignity, hope, and second chances.”
This initiative directly supports the Drug Court’s mission to restore lives, empower individuals, and break the cycles of addiction and incarceration — transforming an empty space into a symbol of healing and new beginnings.
