Floyd Against Drugs (FAD) proudly hosted its annual Greg Shropshire Memorial Oratorical Contest, continuing a meaningful tradition that empowers local students to use their voices to promote drug-free living.

The contest honors the legacy of Greg Shropshire, whose commitment to community and youth continues to inspire this event each year. Students from across the area participated, delivering thoughtful and powerful speeches centered on the importance of making healthy, drug-free choices, an essential part of FAD’s mission to reduce substance use and promote prevention education in Floyd County.

This year’s contestants impressed judges and attendees alike with their confidence, passion, and ability to communicate impactful messages. Their words served as a powerful reminder that the next generation is not only aware of the challenges surrounding substance abuse but is also committed to being part of the solution.
